What is Cold Plasma Face Treatment | Chrysalis

HOW COLD PLASMA WORKS?

Cold Plasma's antibacterial properties make it effective for combating acne and other skin issues caused by microbial overgrowth. Cold Plasma enhances circulation. By increasing blood flow to the skin's surface, cold plasma promotes better oxygenation and nutrient delivery to skin cells

Non-ablative cold plasma facial treatments are the emerging trend for non-invasive and painless plasma-based skin rejuvenation. Aside from reducing the risk of side effects and downtime associated with ablative treatments, non-ablative cold plasma treatments use controlled plasma-containing energy to targeted skin areas without damaging it. The generated energy, or activated ionized gas, is emitted to the dermis skin layer in micro-pluses, triggering the body's wound-healing response to promote new collagen growth.

HOW PLASMA SKIN REGENERATION WORKS?

To understand how plasma skin regeneration works, a basic understanding of skin structure is required. Briefly, the skin consists of 3 layers, the epidermis, dermis and subcutis. The epidermis contains pigment-producing cells called melanocytes, which are responsible for skin colouring. The dermis is made up of collagen and elastin fibres that provide skin with strength, toughness, elasticity and pliability.

As the body ages, the appearance and characteristics of the skin alter. The epidermis becomes thinner, so blemishes become more visible, and collagen in the dermis is gradually lost which contributes to the formation of facial lines, sagging skin and wrinkles.

Plasma skin regeneration technology uses energy delivered from plasma rather than light or radiofrequency.

  • Kills Germs & Bacteria
By breaking the bacteria molecule structure
  • Dramatically Increase Skin Absorption Rate
By temporarily breaking the cells adhesive molecules
  • Tightens Aged skin
    By balancing the membrane potential
  • Stimulates Generation of Collagen and Fibroblasts
by stimulating the water molecules and increasing the heat and friction

Cold Plasma Resurfacing and Rejuvenation (Fibroblast)

Cold Plasma Resurfacing & Rejuvenation is a non-laser treatment that helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, rosacea, stretch marks and facial volume loss.

Plasma resurfacing can also be used to treat skin discolorations as well such as age spots and certain precancerous marks.

Cold plasma, sometimes called nonthermal plasma, is one of the newest cutting edge medical concepts, but what is it?

Plasma is not a thing. Plasma is a state of matter (as you may remember from physics classes taken long ago.) Along with liquids, solids and gases, it is one of four states of matter that exist in the universe.

Plasma is created by changing something else. When you heat the gas, you create a plasma, something that acts like gas, but is able to conduct electricity. It’s the electricity applied to that gas that produces a plasma and, therefore, the plasma light.

FRACTIONAL PLASMA WORKING PRINCIPLE

Under the controllable way, the needle-shaped plasma column is released to the skin surface by the fractional way and dot by dot.

The principle is to ionize gas in the air to create more small electrical arches, tissues are treated "sublimate" and avoid spreading unwanted hear to the surrounding areas.

The heat widens and is subsequently transferred into the epidermis all the way to the papillary layer which contains fibroblast cells. The result is contraction and tightening of the skin cells, leads to the skin remodeling and improvement in various signs of aging and scar etc.

IMACOOL FRACTIONAL RESURFACING COLD PLASMA FACIAL TREATMENT

For individuals with fine lines and wrinkles, there are several non-invasive options available to erase the signs of aging. While laser resurfacing treatments are popular, cold plasma skin resurfacing can produce similar results with a shorter recovery period. Cold plasma skin resurfacing is different from laser treatments in that ultrahigh-frequency waves impart energy to a flow of inert nitrogen gas, penetrating deep into the epidermis, encouraging collagen production.

Cold plasma resurfacing does not cause the skin to immediately shed and exfoliate, but will begin to squamate 4-7 days after treatment. This allows the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of skin, to act as a bandage for the wounded skin underneath. Once the outer layer of damaged skin is exfoliated away, a new layer of skin will be revealed.

Collagen production will continue for several months, making the skin appear younger and plumper. Before treatment, the skin should be anesthetized with a topical numbing cream. The handpiece will be held over the treatment area, targeting uneven skin pigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles. It is common for patients to feel a warm sensation throughout the duration of the treatment. Depending on the needs of the patient and the size of the treatment area, sessions will last up to 60 minutes. Final results are noticeable after 3 months with continuous improvement for up to 6 months after treatment.

The goal of plasma skin resurfacing is to rejuvenate skin by improving facial lines and wrinkles and skin pigmentation associated with photo-aging.

Cold Plasma treatment has been proven safe for the face, neck, chest, arms and hands. In fact it can be used on most parts of the skin that shows signs of sun damage, ageing or pigmentation.

COLD FRACTIONAL PLASMA FACIAL TREATMENT BEFORE AND AFTER

WHEN DO YOU SEE RESULTS AFTER FRACTIONAL COLD PLASMA TREATMENT?

You can see results immediately as the Plasma’s wavelength targets and vaporizes the water held within the skin causing skin to contract. You can then really see the benefit of skin tightening effect once the skin has peeled away.

FAQs About Fractional Cold Plasma Facial Treatment

How comfortable is the treatment?

To apply tropical aesthetic cream 20-30min prior to your treatment. This topical aesthetic cream will minimize any discomfort and allow you to feel more comfortable during the procedure.

Cover the area in plastic wrap - the heat generated through the wrap helps activate the cream, speeding up the numbing process. The plastic wrap can be secured with medical tape.

Immediately after treatment you do feel the heat on their skin, however this is made tolerable because of the effects of the topical anaesthetic applied prior to treatment.

After the first hour there is no real discomfort and the patient soon focuses on application of gel/cream to ensure skin remains moist at all times. The treated area will be red and remain swollen.

The day after the treatment the redness and swelling subsides. Typically on Day 3 the skin feels itchy as the layers of skin start to peel. Once peeling is complete and the skin healed on Day 3 there are no adverse effects to health however appearance may still be slightly red or pink in places.

What is the fractional cold plasma facial treatment like?

Treatment times will typically be 30 to 60 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area and the number of treatment passes previously discussed and determined. After a cooling down period, the area is treated with protective gel to protect against infection.

The immediate after effect is to experience mild discomfort for up to 1 hour which is similar to bad sunburn. You are free to drive home once they have been given reminder of post care instructions and supplied take home prescriptions.

How does the Cold Plasma Facial near me Treat Bacteria?

The plasma in the Plasma facial targets and kills acne bacteria deep within the skin. While you might feel a slight tingling in some areas, there’s no recovery time needed.

What are the risks of fractional Resurfacing Cold Plasma Face treatment?

It is because the Fractional Resurfacing Cold Plasma treatment targets and transfers so much energy to the skin in this unique and controlled way that it is inevitable and indeed essential that three effects occur to ensure we get the change in the skin that we desire, namely:

  1. Redness of skin: the Plasma treated areas have a distinctive redness representing increased blood flow due to the growth of the superficial tissue and collagen. It will gradually fade during the first few days.
  2. Inflammation and/or swelling: Treatment with the Fractional Resurfacing Cold Plasma presents a minimal amount of swelling that can last up to 24 hours.
  3. Hyperpigmentation: This is presented normally on the third day of the procedure but then begins to shed and reveal younger healthy looking skin.
